American Elm Health Care
Dutch Elm Disease is a lethal
tree disease caused by an aggressive fungus. Primarily
transmitted by beetles,
it feeds in the 2-4 year old branches.
To protect a tree from infection,
Arbotect, a fungicide must be evenly and completely distributed
throughout the branches. The best way to get such distribution
is by macro-injection into the root flares of the tree.

The best candidates for fungicide
protection are healthy, valuable elms. The injection process
protects a tree for 3 growing seasons from infections by beetle
carriers, after which time another injection is required.
Arbotect protects against Dutch
Elm Disease infections by coating the vascular tissue of the elm
where the fungus grows. Thus, it is important the chemical
becomes systemically distributed throughout the 2-4 year old
branches in which the insects feed and spread infections.
